teaching resources
We have developed educational resources that can be used and adapted in classrooms. The aim is to educate students about plastic pollution, its effects on marine ecosystems, and to inspire actionable solutions for reducing plastic waste.
These lesson packs explore six core themes: (1) plastic pollution background and overview, (2) Types of plastic and microplastics, (3) Sources of plastic and its life cycle, (4) Effects of plastic, (5) Plastic recycling and alternatives, and (6) Science and action.
These resources are versatile and can be tailored to your curriculum! We encourage you to adapt the lessons to suit your teaching style by combining lessons, skipping sections, or adjusting content as needed. Click here to see how they can fit into the Australian Curriculum (ACARA)!
In addition to the presentations, we have developed a variety of worksheets and hands-on activities (including a beach clean pack) to help students engage with key concepts.
